Open Couture x AI

Open Couture AI extends the framework of Open Couture into the realm of artificial intelligence. In this project, 3D garments originally created within Open Couture were used as input for a generative AI system, exploring how machine intelligence can reinterpret, transform, and speculate upon digital fashion. The work reflects on authorship, collaboration, and the shifting role of design in an age where creativity is increasingly shared between humans and algorithms.

Presented as part of the exhibition AOON (AND, OR or NOT) at the Designforum, MuseumsQuartier Vienna (27 June – 20 September 2025), Open Couture AI was shown alongside works by leading international designers and artists including Iris van Herpen (NL), The Fabricant (NL), Claire Silver (US), Synchrodogs (UA), Flora Miranda (AT), and many others.
